A car laden with explosives went off outside the UN Development Program office in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
An armed assault followed the blast as al-Qaeda-linked group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attacks. Troops from the African Union Mission In Somalia (AMISOM) were deployed to the scene.
Officials have said they have taken measures and secured the compound in Mogadishu, but details on casualties are not clear yet.
The UN Development Program office is located next to the international airport in southern Mogadishu where the AMISOM's main operating base is located.
