Two soldiers killed despite Ukraine cease-fire
Deaths in eastern Horlivka city in clashes with pro-Russian fighters
KIEV, Ukraine
Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 26 wounded in fighting with pro-Russian separatists in the east of the country, according to a Ukrainian Security Service statement.
The casualties came in attacks in Horlivka city in Donetsk on Thursday and Friday.
"The separatists launched offensives 27 times against locations manned by Ukrainian soldiers," read the Anti-Terrorist Center statement.
Despite a cease-fire was signed between Ukrainian forces and separatists in Minsk in February, both sides have been accused of violating the agreement.
More than 6,000 people have lost their lives in the conflict since April last year, according to the U.N.
