The death toll has risen to 16 in the suicide attack which targeted a convoy of NATO in Afghanistan's capital Kabul.
A 24-year-old assailant killed two NATO soldiers, four NATO contracted personnel and ten civilians in the suicide attack which targeted the convoy of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Shah Shaheed region.
"There are 40 injured people, and the death toll is feared to rise" said Afghan Ministry of Health officials.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the attack.
"Terrorists and enemies are trying to disrupt the peace by attacking brutally in Afghanistan. The attacks targeted the settlement where civilians are living and have left behind a large number of dead and wounded, including children" said Karzai.
