CAIRO
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met with the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayeb in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
Speaking to the press following a tete-a-tete meeting with al-Tayeb, Salehi indicated that he disliked branding Muslims as Shiite or Sunni.
"We are all Muslims and are proud of this. Our aim is unity," Salehi underlined.
"I have taken notes of the Grand Sheikh al-Tayeb's advices. Meeting al-Tayeb was a great honor for me," Salehi also said.

Salehi also met with the Patriarch of the Egyptian Coptic Church Tovadros II in Cairo.
Speaking to the press following his meeting with Tovadros II, Salehi said that he invited the Patriarch to Iran so that "love gets strengthened between the two sides."
"I was honored to meet Patriarch Tovadros II. It was a fruitful meeting. Christians, Jews and Muslims in Iran live in peace. I requested from Tovadros II to visit Iran so that the love between the two sides gets strengthened," Salehi noted.
