GENEVA
The International Committee of the Red Cross warned Wednesday that Syrian regime has been blocking access to Homs, where civilians are in need of food and medical supplies.
ICRC warned of possible tragic consequences if international aid would not arrive in Homs soon.
Syrian regime has been blocking access to Homs, a Syrian city, where civilians are in need of food and medical supplies, the Red Cross said.
ICRC stated last Friday that it has been trying to enter Homs.
Magne Barth, head of the ICRC’s Syria operations said "we have been trying, for close to 20 days now, to bring medical supplies and other aid to the old city of Homs".
"Despite lengthy negotiations with both sides, we have still not received the go-ahead from the Syrian authorities," Barth added.
