BEIJING 

China's Parliament formally elected Xi Jinping the country's new president.
Xi was also named as the leader of the Central Military Commission, the top military body in China.
Moreover, Li Yuanchao, a member of the Central Politburo of the Communist Party of China, was elected the vice president.
Number of ministries in China after the election of Xi Jinping has been reduced. Some of the institutions assembled under the same roof.
In the upcoming days, China's prime minister and members of the high level jurisdiction will be assigned.
In the scope of decreasing bureaucracy across the country, number of the cabinet members will be dropped from 27 to 25.
Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Transportation was combined while units in charge of family and social development is coming under the Ministry in Charge of the State Population and Family Planning Commission.
2,952 fellow delegates voted for Xi at the National People's Congress in Beijing.
The 12th National People's Congress will conclude on March 17.
China's new leader, Xi Jinping became a member of the Communist Party in 1974.
