The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has appointed Kudret Ozersay as the Negotiator for the Cyprus issue.
In a written statement, the TRNC President said, "the ongoing diplomatic initiatives envisage a comprehensive and permanent solution in Cyprus".
TRNC President Dervis Eroglu and Greek Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades will meet on Tuesday to further their negotiation talks.
The eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus has been partitioned since 1974 when a military coup that attempted to unify the island with Greece was followed by a Turkish military intervention.
Peace talks between the Greek Cypriot administration and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus continue under a United Nations initiative.
