Turkey’s experience in fighting terrorism is generating interest at a London security exhibition, according to an executive at a leading Turkish firm.
Nazim Altintas, a retired lieutenant general who served in Turkey’s southeast and Afghanistan, said the lessons learned during 30 years of fighting PKK terrorism were valuable to other countries.
“We are a country that has endured terrorism for a long time,” he told Anadolu Agency at the Security and Counter Terror Expo 2016. “Inventions are born out of requirements. And we frequently feel the requirement.”
Altintas, a director for defense firm Aselsan, said his company’s technical expertise made it a strategically important firm for Turkey.
More than 9,000 visitors from across the world are attending the expo between April 19 and 20 to see the latest technology and hear developments in the fields of security and counter-terrorism.
