BAGHDAD (AA) - Four militants were killed and 2 others captured alive in an operation against Al Qaeda on Tuesday in Iraq's northern Kirkuk city, said security sources.
A commander of the Tigris Operational Force Abdulamir az-Zaydi told Anadolu Agency that the operation was launched on Himrin Mountains in Kirkuk with the support of the tribes, in line with the received intelligence.
He said they confiscated several weapons and explosives in the operation supported by air forces where one pilot was wounded but the planes returned safely to the pitches.
Besides, a parked vehicle near the road in Al Ghazaliyah region in the west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad exploded, claiming 3 lives and injuring 10 others.
In Mosul, an armed attack by unidentified assailants left two people dead.
