WASHINGTON
US Secretary of State John Kerry will visit South Korea, China, Indonesia and United Arab Emirates between February 13-18, the US State Department said in a written statement on Sunday.
The statement said Kerry will reaffirm importance of US-South Korean alliance in his talks in Seoul.
In Beijing, Kerry will tell the Chinese officials that the United States is committed to pursuing a positive, cooperative and comprehensive relationship and welcomes the rise of a peaceful and properous China that plays a positive role in world affairs. He will also discuss North Korea, climate change and cooperation on clean energy between China and the United States, the statement said.
In Jakarta, Kerry will co-chair Joint Commission Meeting under the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership and meet the Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ASEAN.
Following his contacts in Asia, Kerry will go to Abu Dhabi and discuss issues of mutual interest between the United States and United Arab Emirates.
The statement said this will be the 5th Asian visit of Kerry as the US Secretary of State.
