The Saraya al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, claimed responsibility on Wednesday for firing dozens of rockets into Israel.
"The Al-Quds Brigades has responded to Zionist aggression with a salvo of rockets," the group said in a brief statement.
On Wednesday afternoon, at least 35 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel, Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot reported.
There were no reports of casualties.
According to the newspaper, Israel's Iron Dome missile-defense system intercepted at least three of the rockets.
The rocket attacks came one day after three members of the Al-Quds Brigades were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip.
