KIRKUK, Iraq
A Kurdish Peshmerga senior commander has been killed after his car was blown up in Kirkuk province in northern Iraq, security sources have said.
Major General Salah Dilmani and two of his guards were killed and six others injured when a device planted in his vehicle went off in Atshana village in Daquq town, sources said on Tuesday.
Peshmerga forces have taken control of more than 30 villages from Daesh since the start of April, including Atshana village.
