Four bomb attacks in Baghdad leave 28 dead

BAGHDAD, Iraq

At least 28 people have been killed and 83 injured in four separate bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, according to security sources. 

At least 11 people were killed and 32 others wounded when cars loaded with bombs exploded in eastern Baghdad.

Another explosion of a car has left eight dead and 23 others wounded in the centre of Baghdad. 

At least eight more people died and 25 others were injured in western Baghdad in an attack conducted with explosives. 

Similarly, one person was killed and three others wounded in southern Baghdad. 

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. 

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, stormed the northern province of Mosul and then declared what it calls a 'caliphate' in Syria and Iraq.

Thousands of people have been killed and millions others displaced by the ISIL-led insurgency, according to the United Nations.
