A total of 23 people were injured during the clashes between police and prisoners who attempted to escape from a prison in Ismailia city of Egypt.
The prisoners, who attempted to escape from Al Mustaqbal Prison, clashed with security forces. The clash left 23 injured, 11 of whom were police officers.
Ismailia Security Department official Hisam es-Safi told AA that the prisoners, who attempted to escape, attacked the security forces with some sharp objects, broke the windows and doors, and set the ward on fire.
Meanwhile, at least 50 were injured during the clashes between security forces and protestors in Kafr el-Sheikh city.
