Three policemen were killed in a blast in the northern Afghan province of Baghlan on Thursday.
The blast occured when a police car was passing by, said police officer Said Mir Ahmadzey.
Two other policemen were heavily injured in the blast.
Taliban assumed responsibility for the attack, claiming to have killed nine people.
