Bahraini parliament speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Dhahrani has hailed as historic relations between his country and Turkey.
During a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Bahrain Hatun Demirer on Wednesday, the Bahraini speaker received an invitation from his Turkish counterpart Cemil Cicek to visit Turkey, Bahrain's state BNA news agency reported.
Al-Dhahrani lauded as deep-rooted, historic the relations binding the two nations, and hailed Turkey's "principled stances" in support of Bahrain's security and stability.
The Turkish diplomat, for her part, reiterated her country's support for the steps undertaken by Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa to boost Bahrain's development and stability, the agency said.
