Clashes between Pakistan's army and Taliban militants have killed at least 24 militants and four soldiers on Tuesday.
A senior military source said, on condition of anonymity, that 15 militants were killed and two troops died from injuries -- another four wounded remain alive -- in the northwestern Orakzai Agency tribal area. Another nine militants were killed and 11 injured in Khyber Agency, the military official said.
Two troops were killed by a roadside blast in Bannu, near the North Waziristan region where most anti-militant operations have been concentrated. The bomb was remotely detonated as their vehicle passed by.
A child was killed and 30 injured in another remote control blast in Quetta; the capital of southwestern Baluchistan province. Police said the intended target, a judge in an anti-terror court, was not hurt.
