ANKARA, TURKIYE - AUGUST 5: The "Golden Age of Archaeology Exhibition" held at the Presidential National Library with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Ankara, Turkiye on August 5, 2025. In addition to the statue of Marcus Aurelius, which returned to Turkiye after 65 years, many other works are also exhibited for the first time. Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism accepted the request of the Cleveland Museum of Art in the US to keep the bronze statue of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius for three months before returning it to Turkiye, on the condition that the museum commemorate the late Prof. Dr. Jale Inan, an important figure in Turkish archaeology who initiated the search for this artifact, and decorate the museum with her photographs.
