Erzurum'un Aziziye ilçesindeki Pulur Höyüğü kazılarında, neolitik ve kalkolitik dönemlere ait izlere rastlandı. Aziziye ilçesine bağlı Ömertepe mahallesinde yapılan kazı çalışmaları, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığının koordinasyonunda Atatürk Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Arkeoloji Bölüm Başkan Yardımcısı Doktor Öğretim Üyesi Rabia Akarsu'nun bilimsel başkanlığında devam ediyor. Seramik parçaları, hayvan kemiklerinin yanı sıra yerleşim alanlarının da ortaya çıkartıldığı kazı çalışmalarında, 7 kişilik lisans ve lisansüstü öğrenci ile 4 işçi görev alıyor.
