WASHINGTON

The United States on Thursday urged citizens to reconsider travel to the UAE, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, issuing a Level 3 advisory and urging Americans to consider departing or be prepared to shelter in place amid ongoing “missile and drone threats,” according to official notices.

“We urge all Americans to remain vigilant, follow local authorities’ instructions, and review the latest guidance from the US embassy or consulate,” the State Department said in separate travel warnings issued through US embassies in those countries.

Commercial flights are operating across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, although delays and cancellations are possible, it said.

The State Department has conducted more than 70 evacuation flights and assisted thousands of Americans in leaving the Middle East since the start of the conflict on Feb. 28, officials said.

Regional escalation has continued since the United States and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military personnel, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.
