Turkish jets neutralize 3 PKK terrorists in N. Iraq
PKK terrorists plotting terror attack neutralized in Hakurk region, says National Defense Ministry
ANKARA
Turkish fighter jets neutralized three PKK terrorists in an operation in northern Iraq, the country's National Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
The terrorists plotting a terror attack were neutralized in the Hakurk region, the ministry said on Twitter.
“Our fight against terrorist organizations will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized,” it added.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
PKK terrorists often use northern Iraq to plan cross-border terrorist attacks in Turkey.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
