The Turkish Foreign Ministry on Thursday condemned an attack on Saudi warship.
“We condemn the attack on two Saudi crude oil carriers at the Strait of Bab-el Mandeb,” the ministry said in a statement.
“We call for refraining from such provocative actions, which threaten maritime security and may further escalate the existing tension in the region,” the ministry added.
On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia suspended crude oil transfers through the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait after two of its oil tankers were allegedly attacked by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels off Yemen’s coast.
