Syrian Kurds will support any party that actively works to remove the YPG/PKK terrorist group from Syrian territory, a Syrian Kurdish leader said Wednesday.

Abdulaziz Temmo, head of Syria’s Independent Kurdish Association, told Anadolu Agency that the YPG/PKK “does not serve or represent the nation’s Kurds”.

The YPG/PKK, Temmo said, “has tortured and driven Kurds from their homes and forced our children to fight for them”.

Syrian Kurds, according to Temmo, “will gladly support whoever sets out to evict the YPG/PKK from Syria”.

“As Kurds, we constitute an essential part of the national fabric,” Temmo said. “The Syrian regime is our real enemy -- not Turkey, as the YPG/PKK likes to claim.”

He added: “We will be grateful to whoever expels them from Syria.”

Syrian Kurds, he went on to assert, “reject the partition of Syrian territory and will stand against anyone who supports the YPG/PKK.”

“We want to see unity among Syria’s Kurds, Arabs and Turkmen,” Temmo said.

Syrian Kurds have repeatedly urged the U.S. to take military action against the YPG/PKK’s continued presence in Syria.
