Russian, Qatari diplomats discuss arms control, Syrian 'chemical dossier' in Doha
Sergey Ryabkov, Mohamed Bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi agree 'chemical dossier' should be discussed in depoliticized, impartial manner

MOSCOW
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov met Qatar's State Minister Mohamed Bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi in Doha on Tuesday to discuss arms control and reinforce mechanisms for preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting gave special emphasis to addressing Syria's "chemical dossier" within the framework of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), advocating for a depoliticized, impartial, and technically sound approach.
Both parties highlighted similarities or proximity in their respective approaches to multilateral diplomacy on these issues.
"The consultations proceeded in an open and cordial atmosphere," the ministry said.
The "chemical dossier" refers to investigation by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons of alleged chemical weapons use in Syria during the civil war.
