Palestinian president hails Turkiye’s support to Palestinian people
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas receives Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ramallah
RAMALLAH, Palestine
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday hailed the support that Turkiye provided to the Palestinian people and their just cause.
Abbas received Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ramallah and discussed the Palestinian cause and Israel’s assaults on Palestinians.
According to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA, Abbas told Cavusoglu that Palestine is committed to its obligations under international law and to finding a political horizon for ending the Israeli occupation.
Abbas also stressed the importance of continuing the work of the Turkiye-Palestine Joint Committee to enhance bilateral ties between the two countries.
Nine agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were also signed at the Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Ramallah as part of the committee's work.
The committee was formed in 2010 and is comprised of representatives from both sides, including ministers.
