Palestinian elder martyred after Israeli assault
Palestinian man was injured after being assaulted by Israeli forces wearing Arab clothing in East Jerusalem
A 60-year-old Palestinian man on Wednesday succumbed to wounds he sustained in an Israeli attack two weeks earlier, according to the official Wafa news agency.
Mousa Abu Mayala was injured when he was assaulted by Israeli forces wearing Arab clothing as he was standing outside his home in Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, Wafa said.
"He was martyred from his wounds on Wednesday," a local resident at the camp said.
The Palestinian Health Ministry has yet to confirm the death.
There was no comment from Israeli police on the report.
International law regards the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as an "occupied territory" and considers all Jewish settlement-building activity there to be illegal.
