The bodies of 65 irregular migrants are found in a mass grave in the Shuveyrif region of Tripoli, Libya on March 22, 2024.
TRIPOLI, Libya
A mass grave of at least 65 irregular migrants was found in western Libya.
The mass grave was found in the Shuwairif region, southeast of the capital Tripoli, the Criminal Investigations Department of Libya’s Interior Ministry said in a statement on social media.
The teams collected DNA samples from the bodies of unidentified irregular migrants, the statement said.
After the procedures, the bodies were buried in a cemetery designated by the prosecutor's office responsible for the Shuwairif region, it added.
