Kuwait called on its citizens to stay home overnight Tuesday as a precautionary measure amid escalation in the ongoing war between Iran, the US and Israel.
In a statement, the Interior Ministry urged citizens to stay home between 12 am local time (2100GMT Tuesday) and 06 am Wednesday (0300GMT).
"This is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring everyone’s safety, enhancing prevention levels, and enabling security authorities to perform their duties efficiently," the ministry added.
“This measure is taken in the interest of maintaining security and stability,” the ministry said, urging citizens to abide by rules and cooperate with the authorities during this period.
Regional escalations have continued to rage since Israel and the US launched an offensive against Iran on Feb. 28.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
