International Union for Muslim Scholars urges Egyptian authorities to probe killing of 2 Palestinian fishermen
ANKARA
The International Union for Muslim Scholars (IUMS) on Monday condemned the killing of two Palestinian fishermen brothers by the Egyptian navy.
"The Union strongly condemns the incident of killing the fishermen brothers Hasan and Mahmoud al-Zazoua and injuring their third brother Yaser in Gaza sea," IUMS Secretary-General Ali al-Qaradaghi said in a statement.
He urged the Egyptian authorities to investigate the incident and ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
The statement also offered condolences to the Palestinian people and the government over the incident.
On Sunday, the Palestinian people in Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza, mourned the death of two fishermen brothers after receiving their bodies from the Egyptian authorities.
