Israeli gunfire martyrs Palestinian teen
20-year-old Omer Avni Yunus shot by Israeli troops on April 20 succumbed to his wounds at a hospital near Tel Aviv

JERUSALEM
A Palestinian teen shot by Israeli forces last week died at an Israeli hospital on Saturday.
Palestinian Health Ministry said in a written statement that 20-year-old Omer Avni Yunus -- shot by Israeli troops on April 20 -- succumbed to his wounds at a hospital near Tel Aviv.
Yunus was heavily injured after getting shot by Israeli gunfire in a checkpoint in occupied West Bank.
Having shot by real bullets, Yunus was claimed to attempt a stabbing attack.
Israeli troops took him to a hospital near Tel Aviv following the gunfire.
Similar incidents took place in the West Bank in the past with the Israeli military citing stabbing attempts by Palestinians as a reason for opening fire.
