A Palestinian was killed and two others were injured On Friday by Israeli army gunfire in the West Bank, bringing the total death toll to 457 since Oct. 7.

The tragic casualties occurred during a series of Israeli military raids on cities, camps, and towns in the occupied West Bank.

"A young man was brought to the emergency department with live ammunition wounds sustained during the Israeli army's raid on the Nour Shams camp. However, he died as a result of his wounds," a medical source at the Thabet Thabet government hospital told Anadolu, requesting not to be named.

However, eyewitnesses told Anadolu that an Israeli army force stormed the Nour Shams camp, besieging a house and engaging in armed clashes with dozens of Palestinians.

Eyewitnesses reported that a young man was shot by Israeli sniper fire while inside his home, and his death was later announced.

They identified the young man as "Sa'id Abu 'Aliwa," but did not provide any further details.

The killing of the young man brings the total number of deaths in the West Bank to 457 since Oct. 7, according to an Anadolu correspondent.

The Israeli army also carried out raids in the governorates of Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarm, Qalqilya, Ramallah, and towns in the Bethlehem governorate, eyewitnesses reported.

They told Anadolu that the Israeli army “carried out a campaign of arrests targeting several citizens in the towns of Fahma and Kafr Ra'i near Jenin, leading to clashes with dozens of Palestinians.”

A medical source at the Attil government hospital told Anadolu that two citizens were injured by live ammunition in the town of Kafr Ra'i, one of whom suffered a serious back injury and was taken to the emergency department.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli army forces stormed the Al-Jadeed military camp east of Nablus and arrested at least one citizen, while the army arrested three citizens from the city of Qalqilya.

Israeli army forces also raided several towns in the Ramallah and Bethlehem governorates, according to local sources.

Tensions have been high across the West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which last week asked it to do more to prevent famine in Gaza, where more than 33,000 people have been killed.
