Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip have killed more than 78 Palestinians since early Tuesday, targeting homes, tents and schools sheltering displaced people, according to various sources.

Most of the attacks were concentrated in central Gaza, including an airstrike on the home of the Abu Samra family in Deir al-Balah that left 13 dead, said the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Another airstrike in the Nuseirat refugee camp killed 15 people, it reported.

The local Al-Aqsa Radio meanwhile reported that nine people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a home in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, while there are people missing under the rubble.

Another five people were killed, including a child, and others wounded when Israeli forces targeted a home in Deir al-Balah. Two other people were killed earlier in a drone strike on the same city.

In the Nuseirat refugee camp, one person was also killed in a drone attack near Al-Suwarḥa cemetery, while medics recovered the bodies of two others killed in artillery shelling southeast of Al-Bureij camp, also in central Gaza.

Two Palestinians were also killed in an airstrike on Qizan al-Najjar, south of Khan Younis. Drone attacks killed two others in Abasan al-Kabira and another area in southern Khan Younis. In al-Manara, east of the city, three more people were killed and several wounded in another drone strike.

West of Khan Younis, an Israeli airstrike on a displacement tent killed four Palestinians and wounded nine. One man also died from injuries he sustained in an earlier strike that killed his two children days earlier.

In northern Gaza, artillery shelling struck a school sheltering hundreds of displaced people in the Beit Lahia project area, killing four and wounding others. A drone strike targeting the Musa bin Nusair school in Gaza City's al-Daraj neighborhood killed 12 people and left others critically injured.

Two more people were killed in an airstrike on a home in Shejaiya, and another person died in a separate strike on al-Sikka Street in the al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

On Sunday, the Israeli army announced the beginning of a broad ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 53,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
