The Israeli military announced Saturday that it targeted Imam Hossein University in Tehran, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to an Israeli army statement, more than 80 Israeli warplanes participated in the attacks in Tehran and central Iran.

The statement identified Imam Hossein University as one of the struck sites, claiming it served as a gathering point for the IRGC during clashes and “contained numerous military assets,” making it a legitimate military target.

The Israeli military also asserted that the strikes hit Iranian military bunkers, missile storage facilities with launch infrastructure, and a ballistic missile depot used as a command center employing hundreds of personnel.

Launch sites in western and central Iran were also reportedly targeted.

Regional tensions have escalated since the United States and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,000 people, including Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, over 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials.

Iran has retaliated with sweeping barrages of its own that have targeted US bases, diplomatic facilities, and military personnel across the region, as well as multiple Israeli cities. The attacks have continued to escalate.
