Iraqi Vice-President Ayad Allawi said Thursday that his country’s ongoing war against terrorism would likely “take a long time”.
“Iraq’s war on terror will likely take a long time,” he said, speaking from Iraq’s central city of Najaf.
“In upcoming campaigns, we will focus on terrorist sleeper cells,” he added.
The Daesh terrorist group has recently suffered a string of crushing defeats in both Iraq and Syria after overrunning vast territories in both countries in 2014.
