Prime Minister of Iraq’s Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) Nechirvan Barzani on Tuesday congratulated Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his election win, expressing the desire to improve ties.
"We congratulate you, your party...," Barzani said, in a message he sent to Erdogan.
“We in the region emphasize on this occasion, our permanent desire to keep improving these relations,” he added.
On Monday morning, Turkey's official electoral commission announced that Erdogan had won an absolute majority of the presidential vote (52.5 percent) after 97.7 percent of all votes had been counted.
