Iran warns US attacks on its islands will ‘shatter all restraint’
Parliament speaker says Tehran would respond forcefully to any attacks targeting Iranian territory
ISTANBUL
Iran’s parliament speaker warned Thursday that any US attack on the Iranian islands would end “all restraint.”
In a post on the US social media company X, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said Tehran would respond forcefully to any attacks targeting Iranian territory.
“Homeland or Death!” he wrote, warning that “any aggression against the soil of Iranian islands will shatter all restraint.”
“We will abandon all restraint and make the Persian Gulf run with the blood of invaders,” he threatened.
Qalibaf also warned that “the blood of American soldiers is Donald Trump’s personal responsibility.”
The warning comes as US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, launched Feb. 28, have killed about 1,300 people and injured more than 10,000.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
