JERUSALEM / ISTANBUL

Air raid sirens sounded across central Israel on Thursday following a new barrage of missiles launched from Iran, local media reported.

Israel’s public broadcaster KAN said the Israeli army detected missile launches from Iran, while Channel 12 reported that sirens were activated across central Israel, including the city of Tel Aviv.

The daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported that one missile exploded in an open area while another exploded near homes in central Israel.

Debris from interception operations landed in a residential yard in Moshav Barakat, it added.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The attacks came as Israel and the US have continued a large-scale offensive on Iran since Saturday, killing at least 926 people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Gulf countries that are home to US military assets.
