Abu Dhabi suspends operations at Habshan gas facility after debris strike
No injuries reported after fire triggered by intercepted missile debris
ISTANBUL
Authorities in Abu Dhabi suspended operations at the Habshan gas facilities after debris from an intercepted missile struck the site, the media office said.
Emergency crews responded to a fire at the facility, with no injuries reported, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said on the US social media platform X.
The incident followed a successful interception by air defense systems, which led to falling debris at the site.
Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
