59 planes, 6 ships with relief items arrive in flood-hit Libya
Relief delivery from 24 countries include 150 tons of humanitarian aid from Türkiye, 90 tons from Saudi Arabia

TRIPOLI, Libya
At least 59 relief cargo planes from 24 countries have landed in Libya to help the people affected by the deadly floods, the Libyan unity government said late Wednesday.
In a statement, the government’s emergency team said six ships loaded with relief materials also arrived in Libya but did not elaborate further.
The statement noted that the recent relief delivery included 150 tons of humanitarian aid from the Turkish Red Crescent and a cargo plane from Saudi Arabia carrying 90 tons of food and shelter materials.
According to UN figures, nearly 4,000 people have died across Libya due to the devastating flooding on Sept. 10, while more than 40,000 people have been displaced.
