Four policemen were injured Sunday when a bomb blast struck a bus in Bahrain, according to the kingdom’s interior ministry.

The ministry said on Twitter a “terrorist bombing” hit a bus carrying policemen in Jua village in eastern Bahrain.

The attack came two days after a bomb explosion hit a military convoy in northern Bahrain.

Bahrain was rocked by revolt in 2011, when pro-democracy protests erupted in the tiny Gulf state as part of the "Arab Spring" uprisings.

The country’s Sunni-led government blames Al-Wefaq, Bahrain’s largest opposition movement, for the upheaval, accusing the Shia party of pursuing an “Iranian agenda”.
