Three people were killed and two others injured on Thursday in Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, reported the country's official news agency.

The attacks targeted sites in the district of Marjeyoun in Nabatieh province, according to National News Agency, which said two people were killed in the Wadi Saluki area, while a third person was injured as a result of the Israeli strikes.

A separate report by the agency said.

another person was killed after Israeli forces targeted a dwelling in the town of Mays al-Jabal, while one more was injured.

Separately, Lebanese group Hezbollah said it had targeted at least 19 Israeli military sites near the border.

Tension has flared along the border between Israel and Lebanon, with exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah amid an military offensive by Tel Aviv on the Gaza Strip.

This week, the Israeli army expanded its air and ground attacks on the blockaded Palestinian enclave, which has been under relentless airstrikes since a cross-border attack by Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7.

Nearly 10,600 people have been killed in the conflict, including 9,061 Palestinians and more than 1,538 Israelis.

Besides the large number of casualties and displacement, basic supplies are running low for the 2.3 million residents in Gaza due to the Israeli siege.
