GAZA CITY, Palestine
Two Palestinians were martyred late Monday during Israeli airstrikes on the southern border of the Gaza Strip, said local authorities.
According to a statement by the Palestinian Red Crescent, an ambulance reached the bodies of the Palestinians, who were killed near Al-Qarara village east of Khan Younis district.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in a statement that the bodies were brought to the Nasr Health Complex in Khan Younis, where their identification continues.
The Israeli army said earlier in a statement that a military aircraft targeted two Palestinians who approached the security fence along the Gaza border and placed a "suspicious object" nearby.
