2 injured as drone debris falls on homes in central Saudi Arabia
Civil Defense says intercepted drone fragments caused minor damage to houses and vehicles
ISTANBUL
Two people were injured on Tuesday when debris from an intercepted drone fell on homes in Al-Kharj governorate in central Saudi Arabia, causing minor damage, the Civil Defense said.
The agency said the incident occurred when fragments struck three houses and a number of vehicles in a residential neighborhood.
The two injured were hospitalized for treatment, with one later discharged after receiving medical care, the Civil Defense said.
Regional escalation has continued to flare since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, so far killing over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
