WASHINGTON (AA) - Authorities are searching for a suspect after a sport-utility vehicle (SUV) ran into a group of migrant workers outside a Walmart store in Lincolnton, North Carolina in an apparent "intentional" attack, police said on Monday.
Police are still searching for the driver who injured six people "in what appears to be an intentional assault with a vehicle," according to the Lincolnton Police Department.
“All six were transported to Atrium Health – Lincoln with various injuries. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening,” police said in a statement.
The vehicle is an older model mid-size black SUV with a luggage rack, and the driver, whose motives are still unknown, was described as “an older white male."
The incident is the second to target migrant workers in recent months after eight people were killed and 10 others injured in a similar attack in Texas in May.
