ISTANBUL 

Türkiye's benchmark stock exchange ended Thursday at 5,554 points, down 0.13% from the previous close.

Starting the fourth transaction day of the week at 5,549.81 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 7.18 points compared to the midweek's close.

The index's lowest value during Thursday was 5,458.76, while its daily high was 5,593.59.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.6 trillion Turkish liras ($201.4 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 84 billion Turkish liras ($3.6 billion).

During the day, 40 stocks on the index rose and 58 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,982.35, while Brent crude oil sold for around $74.38 per barrel as of 6.55 p.m. local time (1555GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 23.3730, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 25.4330, while the British pound traded at 29.3340 Turkish liras.
