NBA: Dallas Mavericks beat San Antonio Spurs 102-98

ANKARA

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 102-98 in Thursday's NBA Texas showdown at American Airlines Center.

The Mavericks' Slovenian star Luka Doncic returned from an injury with an impressive performance as he produced 24 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to lead his team.

Doncic had been sidelined since Dec. 14 due to an ankle injury.

In addition to Doncic's performance, Tim Hardaway Jr. dropped 17 points against the Spurs.

Kristaps Porzingis and Dorian Finney-Smith each scored 13 points for the Mavericks.

On the losing side, DeMar DeRozan was the highest scorer with 21 points.

Rudy Gay came off the bench to add 18 points and eight rebounds, while LaMarcus Aldridge played with 17 points and seven rebounds.


Brooklyn Nets record the fewest 2-point field goals (8) since 1950

The Brooklyn Nets recorded the worst shooting performance of the season with 26.9% from the field, while the New York Knicks beat their city rival 94-82 in another game on Thursday.

The Nets also made history with only eight two-point field goals during the game, the fewest in NBA history since 1950.

Julius Randle produced 33 points and eight rebounds to lead the Knicks to victory as Marcus Morris added 22 points and eight rebounds.

Spencer Dinwiddie dropped 25 points for the Nets.

The New York Knicks had four wins and six losses in the league since the former head coach David Fizdale was fired on Dec. 6.
