WASHINGTON

US President Joe Biden will embark on a trip to the UK, Lithuania, and Finland later this month, the White House announced on Sunday.

In a statement, Karine Jean-Pierre, a White House spokeswoman, said that the trip will begin on June 9 in London, where Biden will hold discussions with King Charles III and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The purpose of these meetings is to bolster the close relationship between the US and the UK, the statement said.

On July 11-12, Biden will be in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, to participate in the 74th NATO Summit.

The US president will conclude his trip on July 13 with a visit to Helsinki, where he will attend a US-Nordic Leaders’ Summit.
