3 dead, 2 missing after landslide in southwestern China
Authorities suspend all passenger shipping routes in waters of East China's Zhejiang province ahead of typhoon Danas

At least three people were killed and two others were missing as their vehicles were buried after a mountain landslide in Ya’an, Sichuan province in southwestern China, state media reported Monday.
Two other people sustained minor injuries, according to the Global Times.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
In a related development, authorities have suspended all passenger shipping routes in the waters of East China's Zhejiang province as the local maritime bureau has initiated a level II emergency response to prepare for a typhoon.
China's National Meteorological Center has issued a yellow level warning for the approaching typhoon Danas on Monday morning. The typhoon struck Taiwan around midnight and is expected to land in the coastal areas of East China's Zhejiang and Fujian provinces on Tuesday.
The wind farms under construction have also ceased operations, and all wind power construction vessels have been moved to safe waters.
Upon landfall on Taiwan, Danas weakened from a severe typhoon to a typhoon, with maximum sustained winds near its center reaching about 40 meters (131 feet) per second, the National Meteorological Center reported.
Danas is expected to land along the coastal areas from Zhejiang's Taizhou to Fuzhou in East China's Fujian province, from Tuesday afternoon into the evening.
The typhoon is forecast to bring heavy to torrential rainfall across parts of Zhejiang and Taiwan.
In several areas of Zhejiang and Fujian, torrential rains are expected, with extremely heavy rainfall in localized spots on Tuesday, according to the meteorological bureau.
