Ukrainians have started visiting the luxury estate of their former president, Viktor Yanukovich, who fled Kiev on Friday.
Yanukovich’s estate features a five-story mansion, a private zoo with sheep, peacocks and ostriches, and a greenhouse filled with banana plants. The house features crystal chandeliers, marble floors, and gold faucets. Dozens of luxury cars and other vehicles were found in a garage. A man-made lake adorns the property. A mansion for Yanukovich's staff, itself the size of a stately home, was found on the other side of the estate.
The Kiev City Council has started bus tours to the area, an hour's drive outside of Kiev. Visitors are being warned not to damage the home or take anything from it.
The estate is so large that visitors can rent bicycles to see it all.
