Turkey became the world's sixth most popular tourist destination, visited by 35 million foreign tourists in 2013, according to the Office of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Information Attache in New York City.
It also said that the number of tourists visiting from the US increased by 6.5 percent last year.
Turkey is among over 500 exhibitors from around the world attending the New York Times Travel Show 2014, which kicked off on Friday in New York City.
Turkey is being represented by the Office of The Turkish Culture and Tourism Information Attache, Turkish Airlines and several travel agencies.
The New York Times Travel Show 2014 is open until March 2 at the Jacob K. Javits Center where visitors get to explore over 500 destinations across the globe, discover travel tips from experts, and enjoy a celebration of cultural traditions and international flavors, and book trips on the spot.
